The Artists

Gerel

Gerel’s natural artistic ability, outgoing personality and true love for the art and technical aspects of tattooing make her the cornerstone of Studio 29 Tattoo. Gerel established the first female-owned and operated tattoo studio in the area and has been tattooing over 20 years. She worked for herself and her art, rising to the top of her field. Over the years she has honored the traditions and tried and true techniques of those tattoo artists who have laid the foundations of the tattoo industry by creating customized designs influenced by the timeless and traditional artwork of these masters, but gives each her own personal twist.

Gerel is always exploring new and innovative ways to apply her skill and creativity; never satisfied with what’s already been done or doing things just because that’s the way it’s always been done. She brings her unique approach to the art of tattooing as well. Not satisfied with just duplicating or imitating the styles and artwork of other artists, she uses a fresh perspective in her designs which results in a truly unique piece of body art.

In the words of Emerson “…do not go where the path leads; go instead where there is no path, and leave a trail…” Gerel embodies the spirit of these words both artistically as well as personally. She is always challenging herself and pushing the boundaries of what is possible. She is a trailblazer and a true leader, and inspires these same qualities in her artists.

Robin

Robin’s earliest childhood memory is when she discovered her artistic talent at the age of four with a blue ballpoint pen and her mother’s white leather chair. Okay, so maybe her mom didn’t view the chair as the large empty canvas that Robin did, but that was just the beginning of her artistic career!

She continued to draw on any and all surfaces that begged to be covered with her artistic renderings seeing, as she did, any plain, undecorated surface as a blank canvas.

Over the years she dabbled in several other mediums as well–water colors, airbrushing, tie-dying–and she started to design body art for herself and family. This process sparked an intense interest and respect for one of the world’s oldest art forms.

Robin has since turned this interest into a career and completed an apprenticeship with Gerel and has had many of her designs tattooed. She is available to guide you through the tattoo process from the design, placement and execution of your tattoo to scheduling your tattoo appointment.
